Artist's Comments

Of all things we humans desire, none can compare with the need to feel and look at what is beautiful in our own eyes. We are compelled to be at our best and look for the very same in others.

Do we care about how they feel when we mate for the sole purpose of pleasure? Of course not. We only care to indulge in the here and now.

The sights, sounds and texture of our personal persception beauty can drive us to insanity. Both in persuing and finding it.

----

This actually could be considered a doodle. That's actually how I handled it. I started doodling in pen and eventually over the course of two retraining classes (my jobplace is starting a new computer program) when there was nothing to do, this came about.

My co-workers were blown away by it, and I really pissed off another artist there because I did this completley freehanded with no guiding pencils or character building. And in fact if you know me, you know I cannot stand artists who build characters with shapes and guidelines.

Needless to say they puffed my ego up. So I thought what the hell I'll show it here and see who likes it.

I may color this at a later date, but for now seeing the reaction I got from it in this state at work, I want to see what happens.

Pen on Printer Paper, 5-6 hours of slow tinkering.

A faceted underlying implication is at the heart of Transitional Serenity by *darthhorus. I find it a compelling statement regarding the force with which we as individuals hide the less polished aspects of our personality to put forth our best face, the prettiest mask we can muster. Wooow...I have to say, this is extremely AMAZING. And you did it all in PEN!! :omg: Very awesome, I love how you depicted this...I'm stunned, and I can completely understand your ego being pumped haha You deserve a LOT of praise for this.

And I'm the same...I don't like using guidelines and all. I do it all freehand, too.
